Some hectic airstrips in Papua New Guinea!

Hello and welcome again, in this blog, i'm going to show you some hectic flying in Papua New Guinea. This is my favourite airstrip. It's called 'Kairik airport'. You see my little twin otter on short final. The runway is flat from the piano keys to about first 200metres (although it doesn't look flat in that photo) and then it goes to 20% upslope all the way to the top of mountain. The passenger terminal is on top of the runway so as soon as plane touches down, it needs to have a lot of power to get up to the end of the runway, otherwise, the plane might go backwards! how cool, right?

Touch down nicely!

one of random airstrips! can't remember the name of the strip but another upslope airstrip that is! you see local people on the side of the runway waiting to cross the runway to go home. safe?!

Uncle Kenny teaching the bush kids how the engine works. He said "Suck Squeeze Bang Blow!"and everyone is like wtf?

More lecturing...

"Take me! Take me!" he says...

A lot of villages in Papua New Guinea makes money by selling their vegetables to the bigger cities. For that, plane is essential! You can see those vegetables sitting and waiting to be uplifted by our mighty twin otter! The guy with hi vis shirt is the agent who weigh the vegetables and tell people to load the plane etc. He must be the smarty one!

Love taking kids photos!

My little jam! This guy seriously loves our company. He has our company shirt that was given to him by captain Ken who is in the photo. Ken was kind enough to print the photo and laminate it to give it to the guy. This guy cherishes it so much. He is bringing this notebook to have all the pilots to sign in his "visitor book" and apparently he takes everyone's pens after we sign haha

Look at his feet! proper bush people!

you can see another airstrip behind him. this one has a downslope like a rollercoaster!

some kids love watching the plane on the way to school.

and you get more people in 5 minutes and they all starring at you.

Mike Davis putting on a show for the kids with his sandwich foil ball.

and his got some lollies for the prize.

Uncle Mike Davis' preaching

Find the odd!

He looks a bit bored when we come back from the mountain strip! Waiting for the next adventures.

Hello there!
